On January 31, 2015 the North County Family Violence Prevention Center in San Marcos, CA closed its doors. The services they provided included legal services, advocacy services, crisis intervention and support for victims of domestic violence and sexual assault. In response to this loss, the two staff lawyers, advocate, and administrative assistant who worked at NCFVPC incorporated North County Abuse Prevention Services, whose mission it is “to prevent abuse and/or further abuse from occurring” to fill the void in services and continue to expand this important work. In addition to working with individuals who experience domestic violence and sexual assault, NCAPS is also striving to end elder abuse, human trafficking, bullying and school violence, teen violence, and dating violence. We have signed Memorandums of Understanding with three strong community partners to begin providing services to individuals.
